Adcock, Herbert John

Herbert Adcock was born in Bunyip, Victoria on 2 Jun 1915. Known as Jack, he was a Private in the 2/8 Battalion of the 2nd Australian Imperial Force. This unit was an element of Australia's 6th Division. His service number was VX6103 and his POW number was 3045.

Jack was born on 2 Jun 1915 in Bunyip, Victoria. Almost immediately after his discharge, on 15 Sep 1945, he married Eunice Irene Short, in Armadale (Melbourne).

Jack was living in Tocumwal, NSW when he enlisted in the army. A short time after arriving home from the war, he married Eunice Short in Melbourne and settled on a soldier settlement farm near Lismore on the Ettrick Estate (Lot 12). The Adcock's were in the district from about 1949 to 1968 when they moved to Caloundra in Queensland.
