Crouch, Clifford

Private Cliff Crouch, VX1704, was a member of HQ 17th Brigadeof the 6th Division. He was captured at Kalamata, Greece on 29 Apr 1941. By war's end Cliff was interned for 1,468 days.

He arrived at Stalag 18A at Wolfsberg by train via Corinth and Salonika. His POW number was 3653.

Cliff was born in Box Hill, Victoria on 16 Feb 1909. Both before and after the war, Cliff was an orchardist on his family property in East Doncaster. He later moved to Bairnsdale where he was a fruit inspector. He died 28 May 1983 aged 74.
